Greetings from Alaska!!!

Boy oh boy! What a whirlwind! I suppose it's not been that long for you, or perhaps you've not realized how little I've been blogging in the past month! Has it been a month already? Has it ONLY been a month? Weird how it seems to be both!

Well, you've likely guessed it -- I'm home in Alaska. Home literally. In the house I spent my high school years. It's great! I absolutely love getting to see my parents so much.

The last stretch of the road... home!

I haven't cooked anything, although I've become a salad ninja. Did you have any doubts?

I started my new job this week, and we finalized the offer on our new house also this week... can't wait to get in and get my new kitchen! It's gonna be great to be settled. I am having a lot of fun moving forward, though I miss my CO friends! Would you believe that I've seen two friends only since being back, my lovely Realtor Leigha, and my new employer! WOW -- ZOINKIES:)

I've also been remiss about taking pictures, except for the last day and of course fun "kid" pictures of the animals. I took almost none on the way north. Whoops. However, it was an amazing trip -- we had great roads from Colorado to Montana (missed a storm before we went through and another after we left) and had a great few days with family there before continuing to Washington!

Dropped off my car in Seattle to be shipped to Anchorage (were informed by the Army just days before leaving that they wouldn't pay for my car to go on the ferry).

Spent a glorious three days on the ferry, meeting new people, and just hanging out. But we were really ready to get "there" by the end of the boat time... as were the hairy, four-legged kids. Trip through Canada to Tok was uneventful, but SOOOOOOOOOOOOO LOOOOONG and pretty icy, though the car in front of us prevented us from going faster than 30mph!

And the final 300 miles were gorgeous, and oh so welcome!

Especially the final stretch!
I just had to show you again!

I want to thank all of my lovely friends in the blogiverse for sticking with me and enjoying my holiday guests -- Michele, Tina & Lisa... as well as with Friday Potlucks. In 2011, I will post regularly (more regularly once I have a kitchen), and will respond to your comments and posts... which I was unable to do from the road! Smooches!

Highlights from the trip:

Kitty Snuggles!

Kitty & Doggy Snuggles (after Kitty scared Doggy to the top of the back seat of the truck and over the other kitty's kennel by screeching)

Leashed Kitty & K snuggles.

K & Lucy snuggles on Lucy's GIANT new LL Bean bed couch.

And a beautiful sunset awaiting me in my mountains, during the last 30 minutes of the drive. Oh Turnagain Arm, how I've missed you!
