Thanks to everyone who joined in the potluck yesterday! There were some awesome entries and I really love getting to look at everyone's recipes.
This week for my Saturday Sevens post I had such a tough time picking just seven of my favorite posts from this week, but I think your tolerance as readers is maxed out at seven. So, here goes!!!
#1 Four Cheese and Bacon "Macaroni" at girlichef
If you've been reading my blog for a while, or know me, you know I'm a pasta fiend. Especially if there's cheese involved. I love girlichef's recipe and the overall look of it. So head on over to her blog and check out this "mac" recipe and some of her other equally awesome posts.
#2 Spice Cake with KIDS CRAZY COOKING at MOM'S CRAZY COOKING
I think this spice cake sounds (and looks) absolutely stunning! But the other reason that I picked this post by my new friend Tina is because I love her blog hop, which focuses on cooking with kids--fun to read about even if you're like me and kid-less. Whether you have little ones or not, I urge you to check out Tina's blog.
#3 Ile de France Camembert Stuffed Sliders at Kahakai Kitchen
Dreamy. That's the one word I'd use to summarize this recipe, if I had to pick just one. Fortunately, this is my blog and I have no word counts. I've been talking about these sliders this week, and even tried to get hubby to make sliders for a party so that I could sneak some brie into the middle. Alas, for now, I have to settle for drooling over Deb's awesome writing and photos. Please check this out so I can live vicariously for just a few more days!
#4 Italian Chopped Salad in Shells by DeeDee's Delights
I love DeeDee's ideas - and I would have never thought about using pasta shells as a serving dish for a salad of any kind, but I also really love the recipe that she's selected and her special tips on how to get it juuuusssst right! How awesome is this!?
#5 Sweet & Spicy Pumpkin Seeds by Nina @ Momma Go Round
I think this is a fantastic and incredibly creative use of leftover pumpkin seeds. Not to mention tasty! I can't wait to try this with the next squash we cook! From the cumin to the ginger to the peanut oil I think these spices sound delish!!
#6 Homemade Butternut Squash and Apple Stuffed Tortellini at Cook's Book
I love pasta (see #1 above) and always have wanted to try making my own. I thought it was so incredibly hard (and it may be), but Marisa makes this look so easy. I love the flavor combination of butternut squash and apples and I cannot imagine this enough. This is DEFINITELY on my list of foods to make!
#7 Stuffed Baked Apples with Apple Veloute at The Ardent Epicure
I was working hard to figure out just what my #7 choice would be when Google reader popped up and said I had a new unread subscription post from Alisha. This was it. How could I resist? I LOVE the idea of stuffed apples! Don't they look amazing? And the marscapone and roux and all the other amazing flavors make me want some -- STAT.
Thanks for checking out these favorite posts of mine from the last week in the blogiverse. And, thanks as always for reading EKat's Kitchen!
This week, I'm linking to Saturday Stumbles @ It's Come 2 This! Please check out some of the other fave posts on Mandi's blog!
